Biden is now up to 50.8% of the popular vote, topping Reagan’s 50.7% in 1980. This is the highest percentage for a challenger since FDR in 1932
And just to be clear, because for some reason it's not clear to certain readers of this tweet, this is about challengers to incumbents. Obviously Reagan, Obama, Nixon etc got bigger totals when there was no incumbent or they were the incumbent
These votes will make Biden’s popular vote lead far larger
@markgongloff As of 11/9/20 5pm PST, California = Biden 66%, Trump 33% with 2.7M uncounted ballots.
Thanks everybody for circulating this. Don’t let the @GOP delegitimize a clear victory
@markgongloff Since 1990, 10mm more people 18yr+ in CA and NY.
@markgongloff But it's a much smaller margin of victory than Clinton won with in 1992 over Bush (thanks to Ross Perot).
@markgongloff But in many ways this election is just like 2000, really could come down to a handful of votes, I’m not this saying this because I can’t face reality emotionally
