Just watched the documentary Human Nature. CRISPR technology is one of the weapons we are using to battle metastatic breast cancer in my lab. This film is a gift to the world. You need not be a biochemist to grasp its importance. @DanRather
Perhaps lost in all the madness that has been going on is that Joe Biden’s life path to this moment has been remarkable, a journey of tragedy, perseverance, hope, and an uncanny ability to defy the odds.

Finished @DanRather’s book What Unites Us—profound all around—but I keep returning to this passage that resonates with me after self-proclaimed patriots attacked our democracy on Jan 6 — still smh at those who view the insurrection as a patriotic act & not the terrorism it was.
Dr. King was only a few years older than me. I think of that often, especially on his birthday. We were young men when we first met. And already he was a once-in-a-generation leader. How much more he could have accomplished. How much more America, and the world, needed his voice.
