#EarthArt Sunday brings us over the turquoise waters of the Tarawa Atoll in the Republic of Kiribati😍
Kiribati is one of the lowest-lying nations on Earth, with many of the country’s atolls and coral islands rising no higher than 2 m above sea level.
Can you spot @esa’s Kiruna ground station in this @CopernicusEU #Sentinel2 image?
It is hard to spot, but is located in the centre-right of the image, just above a dark lake. The station is used to communicate with #EO satellites, including the recently launched #Sentinel6.
Every year our #EarthObservation Centre in Rome (ESRIN) takes part in the European Researchers Night event.
And this year is no different, just online!
Join us tonight for a webinar (in Italian only 🇮🇹) with @esa_cryosat Mission Manager @tparrine:
Congratulations to @a_vesiculosa, the winner of this week's quiz!

We are feeling a bit sentimental after the launch of @CopernicusEU #Sentinel6 last Saturday... so we went back and looked at the first ever Sentinel launch!
#Sentinel1 A lifted off on a Soyuz launcher from Europe’s Spaceport at 21:02 GMT on 3 April 2014.

As part of the @CopernicusEU #Sentinel6 Michael Freilich satellite launch campaign, we teamed up with Baci Perugina to make a special edition of their famous chocolate pralines.
The special box was also delivered to Mr. Freilich's family to honour his memory.
This #WednesdayMorning, @NOAA's #GOESWest is watching a strong cold front produce high winds across southern #Alaska. A High Wind Warning is in effect for Anchorage, with winds as high as 60 mph and gusts to 80 mph. The front also brings a wintry mix of rain and snow to the area.
Today @eumetsat took over #Sentinel6 Michael Freilich flight operations. The European Space Operations Centre began the launch & early operations phase right after the satellite/launcher separation. Thanks to @esa for looking after it until now! More here:
