ICYMI earlier this week, I spoke with .@rezaaslan in the season 1 finale of Powers & Principalities. I'm immensely proud of these interviews and hope that this season can be an introductory resource for people wanting to learn about Christian nationalism.
Wondering about the intersection between White Nationalism and White Evangelicals? Check out this conversation.
Georgia residents, have you registered to vote?
You have 4 days.
If you know someone who lives in Georgia, text them and ask if they are registered to vote today. I know two people who recently moved to Atlanta but were still registered in other states. Check in on your peaches today and make sure. Every last vote counts.
Replying to @RestingPlatypus: Georgia! Register to vote!
I keep thinking how folks say there was a time when Republicans were more reasonable than the current grifters in office. But when they bring up the “halcyon” Reagan era, how does one not think of how they ignored AIDS and let countless die? So...when was the GOP ever better?
World AIDS Day during COVID hits so hard. instead of an inept gov, we had one that ignored a virus outright and a nation that shamed & blamed those who became infected. Thinking of those who endured the AIDS epidemic ravaging their communities while the world looked the other way
Beautiful message from @druidDUDE on the need for LGBTQ-inclusive stories & what it would've meant to have Hope in a Box as a kid: "I grew up in TX & didn't know of any stories with gay or queer characters. I was desperate for a character--in TV or a book--I could relate to…
The one & only @Ilazer!! “If I'd had Hope in a Box as a kid and learned about queer stories and characters that reflected me and my experiences… I would have felt more seen, heard, found, and safe to be me. For #GivingTuesday, if you have extra cash, send it to Hope in a Box!"🌈
Author @Arvinahmadi on growing up gay & rarely seeing himself in books, film, community: "In elementary school I played the ugly duckling in two productions of Honk. I identified with that character because he was different, & I knew I was different even if I couldn't admit it…"
It’s Giving Tuesday! Wanted to tell you all about a great org called @HopeinaBoxInc that provides rural communities with books featuring LGBT characters. One way to make queer kids feel a little less alone. Check them out and consider making a donation!
