Quoted @JoeBiden

Thanksgiving has always been a special time for the Biden family. And while I know this isn’t the way many of us hoped to spend the holiday, the small act of staying home is a gift to our fellow Americans.

In case the last couple of years made you forget what a President is supposed to sound like: This is it

German Foreign Minister Maas reiterates that Germany wants to become a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. Why bother? It won't happen. Germany should spend its energy and political capital on things that are actually achievable

Chancellor Merkel: "The coronavirus pandemic is and remains the greatest challenge since WWII, for Germany, for the European Union and for the whole world. But there is also reason for hope."

The daily coronavirus death toll in the US has reached 2157. After all these months of numbers being thrown at us there's a certain numbness but that means someone's dad or mom or son or daughter or sibling dies every 40 seconds

I'll go back to forgetting today's "2157" when I check the new numbers tomorrow but the people who have lost someone they love will remember this day forever. It's heartbreaking

FEEDING FAMILIES: As the financial strain of the pandemic widens ahead of the holidays, food insecurity is on the rise.

On the same day that the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed above 30,000 for the first time, lines at food banks snaked for miles ahead of Thanksgiving.

50 million Americans face hunger in 2020. What a profoundly depressing statistic for the world's most powerful nation.

Great summary of so much that is wrong in this world: Trump lawyer uses made-up quote to accuse political opponents of lying and when people tell her it isn't a real quote she says she posted it because "the ifea itself is true" whether or not it's fake. Absolutely shameless.

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has rejected "unwelcome" international interference in Tigray, where a 72-hour ultimatum for regional forces to surrender expires on Wednesday evening. Nneka Chile reports.

I'm starting to think we should stop giving Nobel Peace Prizes to people who are still alive and in a position to commit war crimes

#BREAKING German govt proposes Sept 26, 2021 as general election date: spokeswoman

You know how people have spent years saying Merkel is on her way out? This time it's actually happening. Her successor will be elected in September next year

Last 4 years: America has abandoned the liberal international order by retreating from the world stage. Americans are so nativist!

Next 4 years: Why do Americans think they are the world's policeman? I wish Americans stopped getting involved everywhere, mind your own business!

Last 4 years: Trump has appointed totally inexperienced people. It's laughable, Americans are so stupid!

Next 4 years: Biden has appointed a national security team with extensive national security experience. The military-industrial complex controls America!

Last 4 years: America is protectionist! These tariffs are awful, how dare Trump. We need an open world!

Next 4 years: Free trade kills! The Americans want to flood us with chlorinated chicken. We need less globalisation, not more!

I see the German left has moved from bashing America because of Trump to bashing it because Joe "The Hawk" Biden is appointing competent people with experience in their field. There's a certain type of European with which America can never win

If you thought everyone had pretty much stopped travelling because of the pandemic, you're wrong. This is what air traffic looked like in America on Monday

Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve are going to get a lot of people killed this year. These deaths are totally preventable and it's all the more tragic because vaccines are about to be distributed

Biden’s cabinet picks went to Ivy League schools, have strong resumes, attend all the right conferences & will be polite & orderly caretakers of America’s decline

I support American greatness

And I have no interest in returning to the “normal” that left us dependent on China

If I hear one more Trump-enabling Republican bash Biden for being soft on China my head will explode. Hypocrisy is part of politics, I get it. But you support a President who literally encouraged Xi to build concentration camps so stop lecturing others about being soft on Beijing

I see Brexiteers are complaining about hostility from the German political class. It would be easier to take that seriously if the British Foreign Secretary hadn't compared the EU to the Soviet Union a couple of years after the current British Prime Minister compared it to Hitler

Our country needs strong borders and extreme vetting, NOW. Look what is happening all over Europe and, indeed, the world - a horrible mess!

Life in Germany is super terrible with universal health care, low unemployment, low crime, free education and a welcoming attitude to others
